As we know, the ‘engine’ of most non-profits is their Fundraising efforts. There will always be a need for Development professionals to be part of non-profit organizations.
We are pleased to share information about the Certificate in Jewish Philanthropy, Wurzweiler School of Social Work’s classroom-based professional development program to train skilled, knowledgeable and committed fund raisers for Jewish nonprofit organizations.
This year’s group of 16 enrolled Fellows have diverse personal and professional backgrounds, but share a singular commitment to acquire the skills and competencies to become successful fund raising professionals and assume leadership positions in Jewish nonprofits.
Wurzweiler has begun to recruit Fellows for the 2016-17 class and invites you to take advantage of this proven training program in fund raising.
They would also appreciate your sharing this information about the Certificate program with colleagues and friends who could benefit from professional development in fund raising.
They are receiving excellent feedback from their Fellows about the engaging and interactive class sessions. Fellows also receive hands-on support and attention from mentor coaches with extensive experience in fund raising and Jewish professional leadership.
The program has generated real tangible career benefits for their Fellows! An impressive number of Certificate graduates have received promotions to senior fund raising positions and leadership roles at Jewish nonprofits, including several Federations, foundations, JCCs and day schools. This very gratifying development confirms our belief that professional development in fund raising is a real door opener for job promotion and career growth and enhancement.
For 2016-17, they will continue the same model of two evening courses held at Yeshiva University’s midtown campus and a mentored internship, where each Fellow is assigned a mentor coach to provide mentoring support and guidance around her/his fund raising assignments, other job responsibilities, and career planning. The Certificate program will commence in October 2016, following the Jewish holidays and will conclude in early May 2017. Classes are spaced across two academic semesters and we hold just one class in any given week. They offer liberal tuition scholarships to worthy candidates.
