Shepherd Search Group acquires The Joel Paul Group

We are very pleased to share with you the acquisition of the Joel Paul Group by Shepherd Search Group effective January 1st. As we reflect upon the last thirty-six years since our formation, we have come a long way. What started as a local recruitment firm in metropolitan New York has become one of the most successful executive search & recruitment firms serving nonprofits across the entire United States. As successful as we have been, there was this gnawing feeling that something was missing.

After more than a year of research into joint ventures, mergers, partnerships and a variety of shared service offerings, we recently decided the best path for our organization was to be acquired by Shepherd Search Group. Formed in 2001, the Shepherd Search Group of Companies are run by a dear friend and a respected industry veteran, David Gantshar. Why Shepherd? There aren’t many firms we spoke to that shared our culture, values and our burning desire to assist nonprofit organizations. In Shepherd we found a keen partner that understood the critical role non-profit organizations play in helping us build a better society. Their desire to ensure our team remained intact was critical in our evaluation. Shepherd’s focus on new media and use of the “Shepherd Studio” presented us with a unique opportunity to ensure the needs of our clients would be met in ways we had never considered. Quite frankly, that “gnawing feeling” is gone.
